I took a small break

After posting my background post, I felt pretty good. The next couple of days were…easier.

It is important to express yourself whether it is through art, writing, or talking. At first, expressing your feelings about our past or even our present, may be uncomfortable and hard to do. But it is an important part of our process. Once you have gone through all of the breakdowns, isolation, and lack of motivation, expressing yourself helps move things along. It starts your actual healing.

But of course, if you feel too overwhelmed, take a step back, because you may not be ready yet. The only thing I suggest is that you do not hold yourself back for too long. I know it is hard, and I understand there are no straight paths through your healing process, there’s hills to climb, corners to turn.. but don’t keep yourself stationary out of fear. Keep your head held high.

Keep moving.
